Great Anime Mentors
Not only did these mentors guide the characters in the anime, but they also inspired us in real life.
SILVERS RAYLEIGH
Rayleigh taught Luffy to use Haki. He was an attentive individual and rarely acted without a plan. With Rayleigh’s training, Luffy unlocked more of his potential and can stand toe to toe against any opponent.
IZUMI CURTIS
Izumi taught Edward and Alphonse more about alchemy and her mistakes in alchemy human transfiguration. She was a tough teacher but also a very caring motherly figure to them.
KORO-SENSEI
Koro-sensei prepared his students to be ready for anything. Every one of his students learned how to battle with their life on the line. He valued life and wanted his students to never go through the difficulties he has confronted.
ALL MIGHT
All Might personified all features of a mentor. He taught, encouraged, empathized, motivated, and challenged his students, especially Deku. His charismatic personality caught people’s attention all the time. He never enforced his ideologies onto anyone, instead concentrated on bringing out his students' own distinctive views and abilities.
EIKICHI ONIZUKA
Onizuka was given the job to handle the infamous Class 3-4 of Holy Forest Academy. Onizuka was a gang leader and a notorious person, and this enabled him to become a mentor to teenagers who truly needed an empathetic adult. Onizuka never gave up on his students.
MASTER ROSHI
Master Roshi was a martial arts master. Not only did he teach Goku, Krillin, and others skills and techniques, he also taught a way of life. Master Roshi is one of, if not, the most iconic teacher in anime.
REIGEN ARATAKA
Reigen had a great understanding of humans and their different emotional moods. Although Reigen does do many things to help himself, he taught Mob to not instantly act in violence to solve issues, but rather encouraged for people to treat one another equally regardless of their gifts.
GENKAI
At first, Genkai did not care about anyone or anything because she was betrayed many times in her life. She put Yusuke through rigorous and intense training. Eventually, she opened up her heart again and cared for Yusuke as if he was her own grandkid.
JIRAIYA
Jiraiya mentored very important figures in Naruto, such as Naruto, Minato, and Nagato. He was someone anyone can share all their feelings and emotions with. He lived by his words of never giving up as he (spoiler) provided crucial information about Pain in his last moments before dying.
