10 Aesthetically Pleasing Anime
Blogger: Rina Senpai
They say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but it's hard to not give these anime a look solely because of their visuals.
AS MISS BEELZEBUB LIKES
This was a fun and wholesome anime and it purified my soul as I watched this series. This anime made the list for its usage of pastels. It was elegant, yet adorable. We do not see many anime with a pastel color scheme since it is not a very popular look. The usage of this alongside the wonderful line work enhanced the atmosphere of the underworld. This series strayed far away from the typical idea of what the underworld should look like. It almost made me want to live there, almost. The charming and happy ambiance matched the characters charisma and comical antics.
NO GAME, NO LIFE
Sora and Shiro are launched into a mystical world where gaming is everything. The colorful schemes of this series truly made it stand out. The vibrancy was captivating as you get a better understanding of the world and the other characters. No game, no life provided and delivered a fantasy adventure revolving around games and tropes. This was a fast-paced anime that did not lose its momentum and keeps the viewer engaged from beginning to end.
PRETTY BOY DETECTIVE CLUB
The Bishonen Series is based off a series of novels. This series was entertaining, fun, quirky and beautiful. The characters are not only pretty, but magnetic and eccentric, which made the show a whole ride. This artstyle was sharp, dynamic, and versatile.
THE ANCIENT MAGUS' BRIDE
Starting this series, we are swept into the gorgeous fantasy world of the Ancient Magus Bride. Like stepping into a world of pure imagination. This series did a fantastic job of matching the aesthetics of the animation to the soundtrack/OST, allowing the viewer to become fully immersed into the series. This fantasy tale whisked you away to their world and the complicated relationship of Elias and Chise.
MUSHI-SHI
On a quest to understand, Mushi, Ginko travelled the world researching Mushi in hopes of understanding these creature and the truth. Mushi-shi was a tale of a wander traversing the world and the people he encountered on his journey. As we navigated the Mushi world with our protagonist, Ginko, we bear witness to a stunning world. We saw lush, vibrant forests to breathtaking mountaintops and alluring oceans. The landscape and backgrounds are captivating. This was truly a beautiful and peaceful anime.
TSURUNE
Kyoto Animation did another fantastic job at creating a gorgeous anime. The studio not only did an amazing job with its animation in this series, but with the audio quality of the show as well. Listening to the release of the bow and soft tunes truly complemented the show.
LAND OF THE LUSTROUS
This anime was under-appreciated and overshadowed by other anime during it’s release. This was a CGI anime and before you skip this because I mentioned CGI, give this anime a shot. This was a CGI anime and it was phenomenally done in a seamless way. This anime used music fantastically to help enter the series and the beautiful scenery takes your breath away, which made it unique and whimsical. Moreover, if you are a fan of Steven’s Universe, then you will enjoy this series as there are some similarities to Steven’s Universe and Land of the Lustrous.
DEMON SLAYER
The animation quality was of the highest standard in Demon Slayer. With its stunning details in big battle scenes, to smaller details like the artistically styled water that flows from Tanjiro’s sword after an attack, it was stunning to see it play out.
BEYOND THE BOUNDARY
Beyond the Boundary was another Kyoto Animation product. The artwork for this show was magnificent with rich depth in terms of visual production. This was one of the first anime to make me say wow out loud because of the animation and made me a huge fan of Kyoto Animation.
VIOLET EVERGARDEN
This anime encompassed the idea of beauty in tragedy. Every episode was beautifully drawn, and each story was compelling. As I watched each episode, I could not help but ugly cry. Violet Evergarden presented a story with heavy emotions as we watchED our protagonist navigate life through her clients. She tried to find a sense of self as she helped relay their emotions, and the anime displayed these feelings and thought processes beautifully. Each episodes showed a different challenge and how we as humans must persevere. This was a gorgeous anime that will have you in awe each episode.
